Bridesmaids (2011)

A woman becomes her best friend’s maid of honour, even as everything in her own life seems to be taking a turn for the worse. Conventionally structured comedy features hilarious, very well written and performed comic set pieces. Those are balanced with scenes that explore the film’s more serious themes. While those moments are handled less clumsily than in the average contemporary comedy, they are not the movie’s strong points.
