Crouch End

Crouch End (2006)

“Why yes ma’am – I’d be happy to spew as much exposition as you like!”

American couple gets lost in the title London neighbourhood, as things become progressively weirder. Short film is an adaptation of one of Stephen King’s scariest stories, but it ignores its most crucial ingredient: subtlety.

The script spells everything out, the dialogue is awkward, the direction is pretentious, the acting is mediocre, and the visual effects meant to convey a sense of dislocation are lame.
